Unfortunately, sometimes a PVC pipe can become oval during subsequent steps of the construction process. When PVC pipe becomes too oval, it will not pass municipal requirements. We can re-round pipe ranging in diameter from 200mm (8″) to 675mm (26″). After re-rounding, we perform CCTV inspection so that you have a compliant video of the line to present to the municipality. After re-rounding, a mandrel will easily pass through the pipe.

WHAT IS RE-ROUNDING?

Re-rounding is a non-intrusive and inexpensive method of repairing a non-conforming line and getting it back into compliance. Our vibratory pipe re-rounders use high-frequency air powered vibrators to reshape the pipe by consolidating and stabilizing the material around it, which will also keep deflections from returning. Because the re-rounder uses vibration and is draw forward slowly, there is no impact force to the pipe. We clean the pipe before and after re-rounding to ensure there is no debris present and that the pipe is not damaged.

HOW DOES RE-ROUNDING BENEFIT ME?

The greatest benefits of re-rounding are decreased cost and no site disturbance. Rather than excavating and replacing the non-conforming pipe, we can return the pipe to compliance in a small fraction of the time and cost, with no disturbance to the site. In most cases, there is also no need for dewatering in active systems, which contributes to the cost savings. The cost savings for a re-rounding project can be as much as 90%.
